Our classes focus on building your confidence and developing your skills while providing you with the expert techniques and safety knowledge you need to stand out from the crowd.

Whether you’re a complete beginner looking for a new experience or a seasoned professional, you’ll love our workshop!

The experience

Most people have a natural and healthy fear of fire! Because of this, we’ve developed our workshops in a way that builds confidence as the day goes on, so you never feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed.

Throughout the day, we will demonstrate the techniques you will learn, as well as explain the science behind how they work, the specific dangers, and how to protect yourself from them. After some unlit practice, we will light up your torches and begin learning how to work with the fire!

Our fire eating lessons last for approximately six hours (including a short break), with an additional one hour “play time” at the end to practice your new skills under our supervision to help give you more guidance and tips.

Once the workshop been completed, you’ll leave with a certificate as proof of your awesomeness and a comprehensive fire manipulation booklet to take home! This includes a recap of all the information from the workshop, as well as supplementary information including tips and tricks to help you on your fire manipulation journey!

The skills

Whether you’re completely new to fire or you are a seasoned pro. You’ll benefit from the solid foundation our workshops provide.

As incredible as fire manipulation is, most techniques revolve around a handful of core concepts, such as…

⦁ Eating fire by extinguishing a lit torch in your mouth
⦁ Extinguishing a torch using jellyfish, hand and forced extinguishes
⦁ Body trails or “fuses” to transfer fire using your body
⦁ Collecting vapour from a hollow torch and from the wick itself
⦁ Manipulating vapour (the cool stuff!)

Our workshops are structured in a way that builds confidence as the day goes on, and developed to give you a solid understanding behind the movements and the science that makes this magic happen!

Ahead of each workshop, we will be available to answer any questions you may have. You will also receive an email with detailed instructions to help you prepare and find the venue.

Becoming a pro fire manipulator is an ongoing journey, and we love to see our students progress. For this reason, we make sure that even after the workshop is complete, we are always on hand to provide clarification or advice, so you never feel alone!

We take safety seriously!

As fun as playing with fire is, it is inherently dangerous and must be respected!

We plan our events with a “safety first” approach and on the day, you will be given very clear and simple to understand rules which will help keep you, and everyone around you, safe.

All our events are fully insured and risk-assessed. We are certified fire marshals and are qualified in fire awareness, risk assessment, first aid, CoSHH and more!

Tom

Tom is the lead instructor and owner of Fire In Your Face. He’s been fascinated with, and practicing circus skills for most of his life with his earliest memories being juggling when he was just seven years old!

He did his first fire “performance” (we use that term lightly!) when he was twelve. Since then, he has discovered that passing his skills on and seeing others progress is what brings him joy.

Connor

Hailing from Scotland, Connor is undeniably one of the best fire manipulators in the world (and in Tom’s opinion, THE best he’s ever seen). His style differs from Tom’s, which gives him a unique perspective that he can share with our students.

Connor will be joining Tom for our 2024 workshops, providing a dream team you won’t find anywhere else!
